Self taught artist Jim Shore uses his knowledge of folk art to create a new expression of American country decor. He creates his popular works of art based on his deep appreciation of handcrafted quilt and folk art textures and by drawing on his nostalgic childhood memories. His eye for detail and strong design sense are given shape in the Jim Shore collections. Jim Shores current collection, Heartwood Creek, combines tabletop and figurines to create a charming and innovative American country décor statement.
As the creator of the popular pencil Santa line, Shore changed the look of Santa in the early 1990s. He is an active member and president of the Yorkville Artist Guild.
He has become Artist of the Year 2004 at 'National Association of Limited Edition Dealers' (NALED) 2004 for 'Heartwood Creek'.
